A wonderful wedding

At the weekend. Andy's niece Hannah married Marcus in their local village church at Holcombe Rogus in Devon. After a traditional service, we drove through the beautiful Devon countryside to a marquee in a hay meadow. With a "village fete" reception theme, the marquee was decorated with bunting, floral table runners and jugs of flowers. There were also some delightful personal touches: scrabble tiles spelling wedding themed words, a pop corn bar and home made fudge favours in hessian bags. Straw bales surrounding fire pits for warmth in the evening added to the delightful atmosphere.  It was a perfect day!

Looking forward to a wedding

Large gatherings are no longer a regular occurrence in the Bradbury family. With brothers and cousins living hundreds of miles apart, grown up children leading independent lives and, simply meeting normal everyday and work commitments, it’s no longer easy to assemble “en-masse” in a single location. So it was with great delight that over Christmas, we received the news of a summer wedding. Andy’s niece Hannah, is to marry Marcus with a joyful family celebration in Devon!  It will certainly outshine the festive but somewhat depleted gathering we had at Grandma’s yesterday when just 8 of us met for supper.

Wedding Belles

Last weekend, we were delighted to share in the nuptials of an extended family member.  Miss Glis and I wore our glorious dresses from Lady Vintage and were thrilled at the flattering compliments we received. As always, Nerea looked stunning; the fit of her floral cream swing dress was perfect and the colour complimented her skin tone so well.  I don’t often wear anything so bright and feminine but having reminded myself of how lovely it felt to dress up, I won’t leave it as long again.  Teamed with a cream cardigan, my lemon print was perfect for the occasion
