Low key Le Mans....

Others visit Le Mans for entirely different reasons but for us, it was merely an ideal place to stop on our way through France to Spain.  After an uneventful journey from Dieppe, the fun began. We thought we’d find no end of campsites or pensions in the surrounding region but unbelievably, we seemed to be out of luck.  Just as we’d resigned ourselves to an uber expensive hotel, we spotted a camp site sign.  Once we’d pitched the tent and eaten, we enjoyed a short walk to a nearby river with a geocache hide and found our first French cache.

Le Tour 2013

Le Tour” begins in just over a week.  We’re actually going to be in France during part of it as we drive to Spain to collect Nerea, but typically, the peloton will be pedalling on the other side of the country!  But as cycling is the national sport of France, no doubt the country will be alive with enthusiasm, even when the tour is many miles away.  However, we’ll have access to technology so we’ll still be able to follow the race.  One day we’ll get things right and will actually be in the right place at the right time!
